MCC-Niger Compact Celebration
Thursday, September 22, 2016 from 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm
On September 22, MCC will host an event with partners in celebration of the Niger Sustainable Water and Agriculture compact. Signed on July 29, this compact will support improvements to three major constraints to economic growth and investment in the Republic of Niger: lack of reliable access to water for agricultural use and livestock; lack of access to markets; and a fragmented and inefficient business regulatory system.
Event partners include:
- Alliance to End Hunger
- Bread for the World
- Catholic Relief Services
- Global Poverty Project
- ONE Campaign
- World Vision U.S.
These are all organizations that do tremendous work to end extreme poverty and ensure food security all over the world, and will join this event in support of the goals of the MCC-Niger compact.
This event brings together organizations and individuals that collectively support the work to fight poverty and support economic growth in Niger. A brief event program will feature MCC CEO Dana Hyde, and Republic of Niger President Mahamadou Issoufou, as well as remarks from other leaders. Attendees will join together in celebration of the future success for the people of Niger, the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, and the work to end extreme poverty.
