Learn More About MCC's Kosovo Threshold Program

Kosovo is a small, landlocked country in southeastern Europe that declared independence in 2008. One of the poorest countries in Europe, it continues to struggle with one of the highest unemployment rates in the world — particularly among women and youth.

MCC’s Kosovo Threshold Program supports the Government of Kosovo’s efforts to lower energy costs and improve transparency and accountability. These efforts will help the Government of Kosovo — a U.S. partner in countering violent extremism — build the pillars of a modern economy that benefits all people of Kosovo, advancing peace and prosperity in the region.
