Projected Results by End of Compact

The Vanuatu Compact aims to achieve the results below by the end of the compact in April 2011:

  • Reduce the poverty rate on the island of Efate from 38 % to 31 % and from 15% to 7% on the island of Santo;
  • Add more than 100 jobs to the tourism sector, and
  • Increase cash income per capita by more than $300 on the island of Efate and by more than $500 on the island of Santo.

Impact Evaluation Framework

In addition to careful monitoring of implementation performance and measurement of preliminary results, a final evaluation of the Compact will seek to measure the program’s impact on business development, tourism, and household income.
